Sri V. N.  Rai is Managing Director of KRIBHCO, a leading Fertilizer manufacturing  and  distributing  company in  India.     Since joining   KRIBHCO in February 2001, Sri V. N.  Rai  has led KRIBHCO's reinvention as a company that works for farmers. Under his leadership, KRIBHCO has returned to its roots of innovation and inventiveness and is focused on delivering the best total customer experience.

Prior to joining KRIBHCO, Sri V. N.  Rai has spent about 35 years in different Indian Chemical & Fertilizer plants where he has held a number of senior leadership positions. With him he has enriched leadership experience as Chairman & Managing Director of Fertilizer & Chemicals Travancore Limited; Fertilizer Corporation of India Limited;  Paradeep Phosphate Limited; Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation.

Sri V. N.  Rai was the Chairman of Oman India Fertilizer Company. He is on the Board of Directors in Fertilizer Association of India; Nagarjuna Fertilizer & Chemicals Limited; Gujarat State Energy Generation Limited; Oman India Fertilizer Company. He is  a trustee of Gramin Vikas Trust and Kisan Sewa Fund.

Sri V. N.  Rai holds a Bachelor of Technology (Honours) degree in Mechanical Engineering  from Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (1967).  Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM- IR & PM) from Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, Delhi (1981), and  AIMA Diploma in Management (1986).  

He has an outstanding academic record.

  • Member of Academic Council of Cochin University of Science & Technology.

  • Member of Advisory Board of Agriculture Management,  Centre of Indian Institution of Management, Lucknow.

  • Fellow Member of Institution of Engineers (India).

  • Member of Committee on Cooperative Insurance of  National Cooperative Union of India.

  • Honorary Membership Award in 2001, by National Council of Indian Institution of Industrial Engineering,  for his   professional eminence recognised nationally. This award was conferred for his outstanding contribution to the Society and general welfare of mankind.  Earlier this award was conferred  on  eminent  personalities  like  Shri JRD Tata, Dr. Raja Ramanna, Dr. K. Pennathur, Dr. V. Kurien, Shri H.K. Firodia , Dr. J.J. Irani,   Mr. B.G. Deshmukh,    Mr. Vijay Kriloskar,         Mr. M.A. Pathan,    Mr. N. Vittal,      Dr. C.G.  Krishnadas Nair,   Dr. N.
