Equity Participation OMIFCO
KRIBHCO has invested US$ 69.5 Million (Equivalent to Rs. 3285.3 million) as equity in Oman India Fertilizer Company (OMIFCO) representing 25% of paid up equity capital of OMIFCO. The Project was completed in July 2005 at a cost of US$ 892 Million.
OMIFCO's rated capacity is 1.652 million MTPA of granular Urea and 1 .19 million MTPAAmmonia. Government of India has agreed to purchase all the urea produced by OMIFCO under a long term Urea Off Take Agreement for 15 years on predetermined prices. Sultanate of Oman has comitted to supply the gas feedstock for the life of the project. A highly skilled workforce from KRIBHCO is participating directly in operation and maintenance of the project under a "Personnel Supply Agreement". OMIFCO Urea is being purchased by Government of India of which KRIBHCO handles 50%.
KRIBHCO has so far handled 175 vessels of OMIFCO Urea containing 5.2 million MT since inception of import from OMAN. KRIBHCO's Hazira Jetty has also been developed to handle vessels of OMIFCO Urea.
